As digital privacy and security advocates, we’re always on the lookout for tools that make web browsing safer. That’s a lot of promises, all of which sound pretty good. And the company’s browsers for Android and iOS devices promise to force sites to use encrypted connections whenever they’re available. Its Chrome extension promises to identify and block any trackers on the websites you visit. The DuckDuckGo search engine, for example, promises it doesn’t record any search queries. DuckDuckGo built its reputation on its privacy claims.
